François Hollande supports giving young people greater access to Civic Service
25 January 2016
During his New Year’s greeting to address the nation’s youth and to people who work for common good on January 11 in Paris, French President François Hollande said: “There is no strong Nation without citizens’ participation and involvement. To be involved is to be useful twice, for oneself and for the others”. In this perspective, he announced that within 3 years, civic service should welcome 350,000 young people, instead of 70,000 currently. The Rexel Foundation for a better energy future is already committed with the French association Unis-Cité to funding the “ecology and environment” civic service of 20 young volunteers.
